José Moreno was born in Santiago, Chile, on November 15th in 1966. He received the Ph.D. degree in Physics from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile in 2000.
Between 2000 and 2002, he performed a post-doctoral research at the Laboratory of Plasma Physics of the Comisión Chilena de Energía Nuclear (CCHEN) supported by the Presidential Chair in Science (1999) awarded to Leopoldo Soto. At present, he is part of the main researcher team in the Anillo PBCT-ACT26 project: "Center for research and application in plasma physics and pulsed power, P4".
He is currently working in the Thermonuclear Plasmas Department of the CCHEN. His research interest includes the phenomena of ionization in transient electrical discharges, fast electrical and optical diagnostics, and neutron detection in plasma discharges using deuterium gas.
